Glass Animals: “Holiest (ft. Tei Shi)”

British band Glass Animals is about to release their new Gooey EP next week ahead of their full-length debut later this year. For the second track on Gooey, the group has teamed up with one of our favorites, Tei Shi. The New York-based singer lends her silky and chilled vocals to a lush bed of indie electro-pop created by Glass Animals. The band’s own Dave Bayley sings along with Tei Shi, explaining he “thought it would be fun to play the character that she’s addressing in her part so that our two voices help tell the story from the different perspectives.” The song deals with a love/hate relationship, and getting the two singers for timbral and lyrical contrast is extremely effective.

Gooey is available on April 7th, which you can pre-order here. And then keep an eye out for ZABA, the band’s full-length debut slated for June 10th.
