Poet Laureate Alice B. Fogel Discusses Making Poetry More Accessible to Non-Poetry Readers
New Hampshire’s very own Poet Laureate Alice B. Fogel recently sat down with Hobblebush Books to discuss what her goals are as a poet and how poetry can be used to help the community. In the video she explains how she wants her own poetry to be accessible to the average person, which is why she created Strange Terrain to help others feel more comfortable about their own writing. After all, in her opinion, there has to be a balance between “difficult” and “non-difficult” poetry in order to appeal to all readers. Fogel’s interview is a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a poet and also gives other artists great ideas on how to demystify their field without dumbing down the art.
