The Acid: “Fame”

Following the release of their self-titled EP, electronic trio The Acid just announced their first full-length album, Liminal. To hold us over until then, the group released a music video for “Fame,” taken from their EP. The moody track is pulled along by a bubbling synth sequence with airy vocals singing a simple melody. As the track goes on, guitar arpeggios open up the texture and a more determined vocal hook comes out for the chorus. To match the subtle arrangement, The Acid teams up with contemporary dance troupe WIFE and director Dugan O’Neal, who both worked on the band’s video for “Basic Instinct.” The beautifully shot video captures the intricate choreography, which seems to question ideas of identity and masculinity.

Liminal will be available later this year, so be sure to keep an eye out for it!
