Exploitation Meets Kung Fu Western in “Kiss of Vengeance” Concept Art

Kiss of Vengeance is a short film, directed by Fernando Barreda Luna, about a young assassin and her take-down of the Mexican drug cartel that killed her family. The film is inspired by ’80s Mexican exploitation films, kung fu, and spaghetti westerns (you know, the kind of movies mainstream viewers think Robert Rodriguez created). But this recommendation isn’t for the film, it’s for the concept art created by Toni Infante. The art, which runs during the ending credits, is a vicious combination of Sin City-esque comic art and vintage movie posters. It’s a bit of a tease that these illustrations aren’t a part of a larger comic book, but hopefully we can expand this recommendation if the full-length film gets uploaded back to Vimeo.
