Fever High: “All Work”
The way I see it, Adam Schlesinger is one of the greatest songwriters alive. It’s proven in his work with Fountains of Wayne, his work writing song for movies (“That Thing You Do!” will always be the best pop song ever written), and in various other endeavors throughout his career. His new project, New York City-based Fever High, is no exception. Showcasing vocalists Anna Nordeen and Leah Cary, Fever High focuses on high-octane ’80s pop with a tongue-in-cheek flair. Following up their debut single, “That’s So Typical,” the group is back with their new song, “All Work.” They traffic in cliches like “all work, no play, it’s no way to live,” and the music echoes that same predictable spirit. But it’s all executed so perfectly, with the right balance of camp and earnestness.
Check out Anna and Leah partying through Costa Rica in the music video while we wait for their full-length album to come out later this year.
