Lusine’s “Arterial” Video Is a Beautiful, Bloody Mess
The message of French director Christophe Thockler‘s video for “Arterial,” a single by electronic artist Lusine, is simple: if you’re going to spill something on your computer, cell phone, or other piece of transistor-based technology, at least make sure it’s a whole lot of blood so it looks good when you videotape it. Inspired by the interaction of warm, “organic” sounds with the cold electronica of Lusine’s music, Thockler decided to bring that feeling to the screen with a hybrid stop-motion/traditional film video. Darkly lit, it’s hard to tell if you’re watching technology become more alive or dead. Lusine’s new EP (also named Arterial) is due out August 5.
