“Mnemographies,” a Melancholic Visual Set to Max Richter’s Music

Maybe your week has been lacking in poignancy or maybe it’s been drowning with it; either way, you might appreciate this short film set to the work of neoclassical composer Max Richter. Photographer Montserrat Rubio combined his short film Mnemographies with one of my favorite tracks from Richter’s album, From the Art of Mirrors, on the advice of (and with help from) composer Romain Olivieri. The result is about seven minutes of nostalgia-filter melancholy, with Olivieri’s unobtrusive sound effects rounding out the piece. Hopefully a welcome respite from the work week.
