“Terror Town,” a Short Documentary About a Tiny New Mexico Town Used for Terrorism Training

The U.S.’s ongoing war on terror doesn’t stop at airport security or the NSA’s incessant need to snoop through your email. In 2004, the government bought Playas, New Mexico, a tiny miner town with only a few hundred inhabitants. The government turned the town into their new terrorism training center, using the locals as role-players. “It’s actually a lot of fun,” says one of the residents. But the less we say about this video the better. Director Gülgün Kayim also does an excellent job at gradually letting the story unfold without dropping the secret right in our laps.
