Little Shoes Big Voice: “Heaven Ain’t High”

Last month, we shared Little Shoes Big Voice‘s “Blue Veins,” a delightful pop song that showed off the group’s penchant for unusual arrangements and powerful melodies. Now the London duo are back with “Heaven Ain’t High.” The track is more straightforward, but certainly no less delightful. With lush harmonies and ethereal synths, Jack Durtnall and Emily Harvey craft an enchanting, if a bit dark, love song. They sing in turn, “When I’m with you, heaven ain’t high,” over the brooding electronic beat. It makes for a bit of a conflicting message, like there’s something more fatalistic than passionate about love.

Either way, it’s more proof that Little Shoes Big Voice are definitely a group to keep watching out for.
