The Soundcarriers: “Low Light”

With 2014 coming to a close, I want to highlight some of my favorite tracks I liked throughout the year, one of them being this psychedelic track by Nottingham quartet The Soundcarriers. Their third album Entropicaliareleased earlier this year, is a refreshing mixture of ’60s chamber pop with a French-y ambience. The opening track on the album, “Low Light,” is the perfect introduction to their sound, harnessing all the components Entropicalia offers. The song is soulful without being soul, emotional without being whiny, and nostalgic without being conventional. It’s something that can only be described as pure escapism.
