Waterstrider “White Light”

I first stumbled across Waterstrider via one of Bandcamp’s weekly playlists. I then stumbled across them again while shifting through a Soundcloud clickhole and came to the realization that their music is too good to ignore (plus, I’m not the type of person to deny fate). The Oakland indie rock band have been making waves within the music blogosphere, first igniting attention with their cover of Little Dragon’s “Twice” and again with their single “White Light,” which appears on their debut album, Nowhere NowCombining a swinging melody and a dreamy chorus, “White Light” worms its way into your head like a parasite, and there’s an unassuming charm about them that I can’t put my finger on. They just released a video for their single “,” but I think “White Light” is the superior track.
