Bullies Take a Backseat in “Losers”
“don’t be a bully. LOSER.”
These are the words filmmaking collective Everynone admonishes at the end of Losers. The team has created a film that’s about bullying, but it centers entirely on the lives of victims of bullying: young people trying new things, taking personal risks and hoping to learn. And when the verbal and physical abuse piles on in the second half of the film, the images remain focused on these people, not the unseen voices hurling verbal abuse, or the faceless bodies delivering harassment on the basketball court and in school hallways. Give Losers your undivided attention for a couple minutes and see if it speaks to you.
