Government Surveillance for Dummies

If “the news” is a thing you engage with…ever, you’ve probably got some awareness of the NSA’s, well, awareness of everything that you do. But at places like the American Civil Liberties Union, people are paid to break that down in far more detail than most of us will ever know, ostensibly in the public interest. Vermont’s branch of the ACLU has produced this great video detailing how the government collects information on people around the state, especially at its northern border with Canada. I don’t live in Vermont, but I still found this a great case study and thought the presentation—an RSA Animate-style whiteboard of expository drawings—was excellent. Check it out, and maybe see if your state’s ACLU has something similar going on.
