Don’t Forget to Unmute Your Phone, Use “Shush!”
This happens to me nearly every day. I go to work, a concert, or social event and put my phone on silent. Then, a few hours later, I realize I’ve missed a call I could have answered if I had remembered to turn my ringer back on. But that’s never the case.
Thankfully, there’s Shush!, a free, Android-only app that puts mute on a timer, allowing you to turn off your phone without worrying about missing something later. Aside from its main function, the best part of this app is that you never have to open it. All you have to do is use your volume buttons as you normally would, and when it hits “silent,” Shush! pops up and asks you when you would like it to turn your ringer back on. You can set the time in addition to the volume your phone will return to. Or, if you don’t know when you want it to turn back on, just use the “keep it off” option.
So, Android users, you now have no excuse for unnecessarily missing a call. As for the me, I’ll just have to wait until I find a suitable alternative.
