Young Fathers: “Low”
After releasing two mixtapes, Scottish trio Young Fathers are prepping the release of their first official album, Dead, for early next year. To get us extra excited for the release, they’ve put out a video for a new song from the set, “Low.” The song, like most of the band’s material, falls in the cracks between indie-rock, chillwave, and hip-hop, creating an interesting and unique sound. With catchy hooks and a relaxed beat, the track goes down easy all the way through. Even towards the end of the track when huge distorted drums start pounding away, the simple and continuous keyboard line gives the song a sense of calmness. The accompanying video, a highly colorized collage of the band performing the song, adds to the psychedelic quality of the music.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Dead when it drops on February 3rd, and pre-order it now.
