Elena Eremina Captures the Late Night Adventures of Hamsters

It looks like something out of a children’s book: dozens of hamsters take over a kitchen at night long after the humans have gone to bed. Still Life with Hamsters shows the hidden, mischievous behavior of hamsters as they scatter around, steal food and knock plants over. There’s a light-heartedness to the photography while, at the same time, being slightly nightmarish (especially if you don’t like hamsters). Russian photographer Elena Eremina uses her own hamsters for the series, and apparently the hamsters enjoy being in front of the camera. She explains to BonExpose: “They are glad to be released from their cages so that they can run around and vandalize.”
