Faces of the Sleep Deprived
We get it. Everyone needs more sleep, but getting the usual eight hours of sleep isn’t feasible for most people. After all, armed with an arsenal of espresso shots and under eye concealer, most of us can face the day regardless of how many hours of sleep we get, right? Not so fast. The physical effects of sleep deprivation are more apparent than you might think. Photographer Julia Hembree‘s series Faces of the Sleep Deprived shows before and afters of people who went 48 hours without sleep. The picture on the left is what each person looked like after 48 hours of no sleep, and the picture on the right is what they looked like after a full eight hours of sleep. The difference is clear. Get your sleep!
