Wushu Dust: When Martial Arts Meets Colorful Powder

For the grizzled, seen-it-all internet viewer, dudes running around doing flips is old hat, as is an array of post-production special effects. Naturally, then, director Adrien Servadio decided to go analog. The clip Wushu Dust features French practitioners of wushu, a Chinese sport derived from various martial arts traditions in the 20th century, doing their badass thing while covered in deposits of colored dust that explode and stream out at particularly dynamic moments. Pretty cool, though I imagine there must’ve been a lot of coughing edited out from the raw footage. Check out more of Servadio’s  here.
