Holly Herndon’s New Video for “Chorus” Is a Trippy Homage to the Internet

Holly Herndon is a San Francisco-based composer and artist who creates intricate electronic and vocal music. She recently released an EP for RVNG Intl, and with that release came this incredible music video for the track “Chorus.” The piece is composed from samples of Herndon’s own voice blended with sounds pulled from the Internet and then combined with a processed beat. The eclectic and avant-garde nature of the music reflects the “coherent / incoherent experience from disparate conceptual and contextual sources” of online browsing. To match, the Akihiko Taniguchi directed music video explores distorted and damaged 3-D renderings of personal computer work spaces and a rendering of the artist herself.

You can buy the new 12″ single from Herndon here on vinyl or digital.
