A Short Animated Video About Living with Depression
This short animated video by animator/director Anna Ginsburg puts a visual spin on how depression affects individuals. Avoiding the more clinical outlook, the video features audio from real people who suffer from depression. Their voices are interlaced with the animation, putting a human face on the emotional and crippling side effects that depression sufferers have to face. And Ginsburg’s 2-D animations, while slightly experimental in nature, accurately portray these feelings and emotions in a way that’s honest and empathetic. Surprisingly, at only a minute long, it’s amazing how much she manages to convey through so little.
