Irish teen Bridie Monds-Watson releases her moody, acoustic-driven songs under the name SOAK. After self-releasing the Sea Creatures EP in 2012, she’s earned a publishing deal with Universal Music and is now signed to CHVRCHES label Goodbye Records. Later this year, she’ll be putting out her Blud EP with the label, and they’ve just released the first single and title track from the set. “Blud” (or “blood”) keeps Monds-Watson’s intimate songwriting and expands it with atmospheric drums and reverb. Her unique and modest vocals brood about a deteriorating relationship over the simple acoustic guitar chord changes. Soak is definitely an artist to watch this year, so keep an eye out for the Blud EP later this year!
