This Colorful, Upbeat Animation Was Made Without a Single Camera
Kathryn Marshall’s work Triveni Animation is an animated short film with a distinctive visual style. Its method of creation? The animation was made without use of a conventional camera. Instead, Marshall did her work by drawing directly on 16 mm film. According to her, “Each frame is scratched into, painted on with ink, cut into, or drawn on.” Synced to the energetic Gabriela y Rodrigo song “Triveni,” the clip moves itself along in a manner somewhat more literal than usual.
