Tiny Ruins: “Me At The Museum, You In The Wintergardens”

Tiny Ruins is a New Zealand-based folk group led by singer/songwriter Hollie Fullbrook. With two EPs and a full-length album under her belt, the group is set to release the sophomore album, Brightly Painted One on May 5th. The first single from the album is the incredible “Me At The Museum, You In The Wintergardens.” The track has actually been around for a few years but never made it onto any releases. Lucky for us, we now have a studio recording of the song, a tender ballad of unspoken love. Fullbrook’s fingerpicked guitar is joined by light drums, an upright bass, and atmospheric electric guitar noise. But the real focus is her lovelorn vocal performance.  Her elegant voice is simple but emotionally nuanced. Each time you listen to the song, you get pulled in deeper and find new things to fall in love with. Needless to say, May 5th can’t come quickly enough!

Be sure to catch up on Tiny Ruins’ catalogue while we wait for Brightly Painted One, the band’s first album on Bella Union Records.
