South African design studio MUTI are at it again, this time creating illustrations based around everyone’s favorite cult TV show, Twin Peaks. Their tribute project pays homage to the TV show by recreating several pivotal characters, like Dale, Audrey, and who can forget, Killer Bob. Using their trademark soft line approach that’s reminiscent of colored pencils, the project has a playful, cartoonish quality that’s slightly atypical for Lynchian fan art. It actually makes us wonder what a Twin Peaks cartoon would have been like. Good idea or nah? I guess we can only dream.

South African creative studio MUTI are at it again, this time creating a stylish homage to the cult Tarantino flick Pulp Fiction. To celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary (damn we’re old), MUTI created a series of posters and character portraits of the film. But to spice things up, the illustrations were fashioned after vintage cigarette collectors cards. Clever and charming.

There’s no shortage of interesting projects South African creative studio MUTI sinks their teeth into. Their latest is Struggle Heroes, a series of illustrations inspired by vintage Bollywood movie posters. In the series, they pick three iconic heroes of the South African liberation struggle: Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, and Steve Biko. They cast each icon as the “star” of their respective posters, making an interesting parallel between important historical figures and the martyrdom of movie stars. All three prints are currently on sale via Inprnt.
