Fans of the reboot Sailor Moon Crystal will recognize Momoiro Clover Z’s new single Moon Pride as the opening theme that’s all about girls kicking butt and taking names. The fun feminist anthem celebrates girl power, friendship between women, and all the strong ladies who don’t need a man to rescue them because they can take care of themselves just fine.
For die-hard Sailor Moon fans, the music video also offers a glimpse of the new transformation sequences for Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus, and Sailor Jupiter. It’s just as glamorous as the transformations from the original ‘90s anime, but the Sailor Guardians have gotten a slight CGI makeover for Crystal that focuses on their elemental powers of earth, air, fire, and water. Whether you enjoy fun pop songs that celebrate female friendships or you’re a Moonie who can’t wait to purchase the theme song for Sailor Moon Crystal, the music video for Moon Pride is a gorgeous homage to one of the world’s most famous animated television shows.

Moonies, rejoice! VIZ Media has announced that not only will they dub the classic ‘90s anime Sailor Moon into English, but they’ll also be releasing it on Blu-Ray and DVD as well. As part of their marketing campaign, they released a clip from the pilot episode so fans can see the new voice actors for the revamped English dub. Unlike the original English adaption, Stephanie Sheh and Robbie Daymond actually alter their voices to reflect their character’s ages. Sheh is completely believable as the 14-year-old Usagi Tsukino and her acting is quite reminiscent to Kotono Mitshushi who voiced Usagi in the original Japanese version.
If you’re looking to indulge in some ‘90s nostalgia or if you’re a Moonie who is anxiously awaiting the release of the new English dub, check out the brief clip and watch Usago and Mamoru snark at each other for the very first time.
