This is an entire album sampled from porn videos ripped from RedTube. I’m not entirely sure I need to elaborate further than that, but if you’re more interested, Hometape is a British producer who wanted to get better at sampling and figured if he “could make an entire album out of porn sounds, then [he] could go on to sample just about anything.” It also acts as an interesting documentation of the surreal and fascinating world of online streaming pornography.
The tracks are laid-back chillwave, pulling most of their material from the soundtracks to various porn films and augmented by groans, moans, and cheesy dialogue. The video for “Vintage Upload II”, made by the producer himself, cuts together shots from the scenes he’s sampling from. Another cool, and more graphic, video was made for “Hey There“, the opening track which mainly samples from the pre-sex interviews in the scenes.

Making a big name for himself in the Vapor-ware scene earlier this year, the young producer known as Saint Pepsi has fully transcended the genre. His most recent full-length mixtape, Hit Vibes, shows off his skill of curating, editing, and adding to ’80s tracks in a way that feels fresh and original. His faster tempos might allow this music to be labeled ‘Vapor-Boogie’ or ‘Vapor-Disco’, but labels aside, we can all agree on how infectious it is. Running throughout the album are samples of dialogue from Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You, adding a cohesive thread and an interesting juxtaposition to the musical samples.
